Shelter Enterprises rigid EPS foam insulation products are durable, versatile, energy efficient and cost-effective solutions for construction and architectural applications.
EPS insulation delivers consistent performance in tough weather conditions, is termite and mold resistant, and above all is CFC free (ozone safe). With so many benefits, it’s easy to see why EPS is the preferred insulation among architects, designers, builders and contractors.

Energy savings and more...
The greatest single energy loss in most homes is air infiltration, this problem usually happens at the windows, door frames, sill plates and through walls.
Shelterwrap HD™ from Shelter Enterprises is a high density underlayment designed to eliminate costly air infiltration. Applied to a home’s existing siding before new siding is installed, it provides a fl at surface, and is perforated to reduce condensation.
It’s just flat out better.
Some underlayment insulations are made of extruded polystyrene and do not lie flat against the wall, this buckling effect creates an uneven surface for the new siding – and an often less than satisfactory end product.
Shelterwrap HD™ is made of high density expanded polystyrene and provides a completely level surface. The unique hinged fold creates a superior underlayment for siding while simplifying handling.
Shelterwrap HD™ is manufactured with a weather resistant copolymer skin and a rigid polystyrene core which adds “R” value to the wall. To achieve a higher system “R” value, Shelterwrap HD™ is also available with a reflective copolymer skin on one side.
Product Name: Shelterwrap HD™
Size: 24 feet wide by 4 feet high
Core Material: Expanded Polystyrene (EPS)
Facing Options: PC2 : Poly-(clear) / Poly-(clear)
RPC: Poly-(reflective) / Poly-(clear)
R2: Poly-(reflective) / Poly-(reflective)
Shelterwrap HD™ was designed to be applied directly over existing siding.
Measuring 4’ x 24’ per bundle, Shelterwrap HD™ is cut through the insulation every 2’ and fan folded , as a hinge at each fold this allows easy one-person installation.
The structural integrity of Shelterwrap HD™ allows the product to lay absolutely flat against the old siding eliminating the need for furring strips.
Recommended Installation Instructions
Measuring: All edges of windows and doors should be fitted tightly to reduce air infiltration through the wall system. The one inch “+” pattern makes cutting around windows and doors easier, without the use of a straight edge.
Cutting: Shelterwrap HD™ should be cut with a thin blade extended 1-1/2”to 2”. To provide a clean cut hold the blade at a 15 to 20 degree angle to the Shelterwrap HD™.
Installing: Nail Shelterwrap HD™every two feet along its length, and approximately 2” from the top and bottom of the product. For most applications, 1-1/2” aluminum siding nails are appropriate.
Shelterwrap HD™ should be applied to, and around the corners of the structure before the corner posts are applied. J-Channel may be applied before or after Shelterwrap HD™ is applied, depending on the extension of the windows, or the desired appearance of the siding.
Consult local building codes and membrane manufacturer for system requirements.
Caution: This product is combustible and if exposed to a fire of sufficient heat and intensity may burn rapidly. It should not be left exposed or inadequately protected.
Standards: ASTM C-578 Standard Specifications on for Rigid, Cellular Polystyrene Thermal Insulation.
ASTM C 518-98 “Standard Test Method for Steady-State Heat Flux Measurements and Thermal Transmission Properties by Means of the Heat Flow Meter Apparatus.
